Using MediaJar
How do I save a video?
Open the page and start playing the video. Click the MediaJar icon in the toolbar: the clip that is playing is marked “Playing now”. Choose a quality and press Download.
The video I want isn’t in the list.
Many sites load video only when it starts playing. Reload the page, press Play, then open MediaJar again. Some sites need a few seconds of playback. If it still isn’t there, send us the page address — that helps us fix it.
Why doesn’t MediaJar download from YouTube?
Chrome Web Store rules do not allow extensions to download YouTube videos, so MediaJar does not. You can still save images from those pages.
It says the video is protected (DRM).
Streams protected with DRM (for example on paid streaming services) are encrypted, and MediaJar does not bypass that protection.
Is the quality reduced?
No. MediaJar never re-encodes video. It saves the stream the site sends and, when needed, repacks it into an MP4 file without changing the picture or sound.
Where are files saved?
In your browser’s Downloads folder, optionally in a subfolder. With Pro you can choose any folder and save into it directly, without dialogs.
Why do some videos have “no sound”?
Some sites send picture and sound as separate files. MediaJar joins them into one MP4 automatically; when it can’t tell which sound belongs to the video, it lets you choose.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (version 116 or newer). It may also work in other Chromium-based browsers.

What do I get with Pro?

How does the free trial work?
Press “Try Pro free” in the extension. You get 10 Pro actions: each download, ZIP, export or “Download all” that uses a Pro feature takes one; a live recording takes one per 10 minutes after the free first 10. No card is needed.
How do I activate my key?
Open MediaJar → Settings (gear icon) → License key, paste the key from your email and press Activate.
Can I use my license on another computer?
Yes, on your own computers. With Chrome sync on, the key follows your browser profile; otherwise paste it there too.
I lost my license key.
Write to us from the email you used at checkout and we will send it again.
How do I cancel the annual plan or get a refund?
Use the link in your Paddle receipt email or write to us. Refunds are available within 14 days — see the refund policy.

Do you see what I watch or download?
No. MediaJar works on your computer and sends no browsing data to us. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
